Portable Chargers Recalled: Overheating Hazard Poses Risk

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 55,000 portable chargers have been recalled due to a fire hazard linked to lithium-ion batteries, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) .

The recall involves the “Baseus 65W 30000mAh Portable Charger,” which has been connected to 76 incidents, including four fires and three reports of property damage.

The chargers were sold online by Shenzhen Baseus Technology on Amazon, AliExpress, Walmart, and the company’s own website from April 2020 through April 2025. Prices ranged between $39 and $90.

The CPSC urges consumers to stop using the chargers immediately and contact Baseus for a free replacement.

To receive a replacement, consumers must submit a photo showing the model and serial number on the recalled charger and confirm that it has been properly thrown away.
