JONESBORO, Ark. (KATE) -- Due to the weather conditions, the Jonesboro Fire Department has decided to delay their yearly Fill the Boot fundraiser until further notice.
The event originally scheduled for Friday, May 2, has been moved to Friday, May 9.
Firefighters will be spread throughout the town gathering contributions.
Jonesboro Fire Chief Martin Hamrick discussed the significance of this occasion.
"Fill the Boot is a registered fundraising event organized by the International Association of Firefighters. This campaign has been running for some time now with just one aim: to collect funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association," Hamrick stated.
Hamrick stated that this will be an all-day event until the boots are filled.
