
A popular appliance sold at Walmart, Target, Costco, and other stores has been recalled after 106 burn reports throughout the U.S.
The recalled item is the "SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cooker." as stated in the recall notice from May 1, 2025, from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Approximately 1.8 million pressure cookers were sold in the U.S., with over 184,000 additional units sold in Canada as stated in the recall notification.
The recall notice states, “Customers must cease utilizing the product’s pressure-cooker feature right away and reach out to SharkNinja for a complimentary new lid. The customers may still utilize the appliance’s air-fryer capabilities as well as its additional features,” It also mentions that "SharkNinja has been informed about 106 incidents involving burns, which include over 50 cases of second or third-degree burns to either their faces or bodies, along with 26 legal actions being initiated.”
As stated in the notification, the pressure cooker was available for purchase at Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, and Target outlets across the country, as well as online. www.Ninjakitchen.com , www.walmart.com , www.costco.com , www.samsclub.com , www.amazon.com and www.target.com from January 2019 through March 2025 for about $200."
The recall warning states, "There is a possibility for the pressure cooker lid to open while in use, allowing hot content to spill out, which poses a potential hazard of burns to customers."
The remedy listed is "repair." The recall notice says the pressure cookers were manufactured in China.
The recall encompasses all Ninja Foodi OP300 series multi-function pressure cookers. These appliances feature functionalities such as pressure cooking and air frying. They were available only in black with a six-and-a-half quart capacity, according to the recall notification.
"Ninja" is displayed on the front of every device as well as on the product sticker. The models mentioned in this recall include OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302HCN, OP302HAQ, OP302HW, OP302HB, OP305, OP305CO, and OP350CO. These model numbers can also be found on a label located on the side of the appliance," the notification states.
A supplementary code after the model number does not form part of that specific model designation. As an illustration, equipment marked with ‘OP301 I07’ falls under the OP301 model category. Additionally, all extra parts like replacement pressure cooker lids from the OP300 series being recalled will be encompassed within this notification.
